Dale Young -Violin

Dale is a native of Milwaukee, WI. He began studying violin privately in the 5th grade and was a member of the first Music For Youth Orchestra. He attended Carroll College studying both violin and vocal music, during this time he was also a member of the Waukesha Symphony. Dale began his teaching career as a vocal music teacher in Pittsville, WI. In 1968 he became an orchestra instructor in the Eau Claire Public School District. He continued to study violin and played in the University Of Wisconsin Eau Claire orchestra. He received his Masters Degree in Music Education from UWEC. Dale is a charter member of the Chippewa Valley Symphony serving as its concertmaster for 33 years.

Always a singer, Dale has been a lifelong church choir member and community soloist. His hobby is gardening and he and his wife Loretta own “Class Apple”, a pick your own orchard just south of Eau Claire.



Ryan Poquette - Violin

Ryan is originally from Eau Claire, but grew up in Madison WI. He studied music education at UWEC and was Concertmaster of the UWEC Chamber Orchestra. Ryan has played extensively with orchestras in and around Madison and Eau Claire including the Beloit Janesville Symphony, and is currently Concertmaster of the Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra. Ryan directs several handbell choirs at First Presbyterian Church and Trinity Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. He also performs regularly at area Churches.

Ryan is a certified computer technician for an Eau Claire computer company. His hobbies include making exotic wood pool cues, and music composition. Ryan is also an audiophile, constructing custom loud speakers, amplifiers and various other small circuitry.




William W. Eisenbarth - Viola
Bill is from Bismarck, North Dakota. He began studying the violin in 1953 with Harold Van Heuvelin and later with Francis Elliot. He graduated from Missouri Valley College, Marshall, MO in 1967 with a degree in Human Relations. In 1971, Bill attended Winona State University, Winona, MN and studied violin with Milton Davenport. Upon graduation, he became an orchestra instructor with the Eau Claire, WI Public Schools. Bill is a founder of the Chippewa Valley Symphony and has served as principal second violin player for 33 years. He also rotates playing in the viola section. He was also the first Board Chairman of the CVS, and in 2007 he again began serving a second term on the CVS Board of Directors where he is chairman of the Symphony Education Committee.

After teaching strings for twenty seven years, Bill retired and now operates the Eisenbarth String Instrument Repair shop. He is a builder and repairman of violins, violas, cellos and string basses. His hobbies include reading, hiking, photography, golf and of course playing the violin and viola. He plays a viola he made himself in the Chippewa Valley String Quartet.


Susan Halderman - Cello
Susan holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and a Master of Music degree from Kent State University. Teachers include Ronald McCreery, Moshe Amitay, Chaim Zemach, Carlton McCreery, and Jean Dexter-Suzuki Training.
For sixteen years, Susan taught public school orchestra in Clinton/Jackson, Mississippi, and Greenville, South Carolina. She has played cello in many orchestras, including the Oshkosh Symphony, Canton Symphony (OH), Meridian Symphony (MS), Mississippi Symphony, La Crosse Symphony, and presently the Eau Claire Chamber Orchestra and the Chippewa Valley Symphony. She is the cellist and one of the founding members (2000-present) of the Chippewa Valley String Quartet. She has created two cello ensembles: the Eau Claire Cello Ensemble and the Chippewa Valley Cello Ensemble.
She has taught private cello lessons since college, and is now running a cello studio in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, under the name The Cello Connection
